No more Wash N' Go for Me

I am back in the 21st century! I am finally able to do laundry at home again. Even though I am not a huge fan of doing laundry, I was actually excited to do a load today after my "new-to-me" washer and dryer were set up. It is amazing how the little things make me happy! Just the added convenience of not having to haul hall of my unmentionables out of the house to some public venue to wash and dry or send them over to my parents will be so great! My parents have been so nice letting me do laundry at their house or in most cases, my mom would throw my stuff in with theirs. That has been a bonus. But it is just nice to have everything in one place and to be able to take care of it myself. YAY!

Relax!

I spontaneously decided to rent a movie from one of those convenient kiosks outside of the gas station after I finished at Costco this afternoon. I pulled up and parked, then patiently waited in my car while a mother and son finished choosing their movies and checking out. After they were done with their transaction, I got out of my car so I could decide what to rent. While was looking through the movies, a woman came up and stood waiting to rent. While my movies were dispensing, I turned to her to make casual conversation, saying "I just could not decide." She had only had to wait on me for a couple of minutes. I was very aware that she was waiting. Anyway, she said back to me, "That is why I get online before I come to rent so I don't make people wait for me to choose what to rent." We continued our conversation and then I got in my car.

I was not impressed. As a matter of fact, as I drove out of the parking lot on to my next destination, I got a little fired up. What was this woman's issue? She had to wait all of TWO MINUTES while I selected my movies. I was dumb enough to make casual conversation with her (yes, my mistake) and that is when she proceeded to inform me (albeit not so subtly) that I was not being considerate because I did not take the time to plan ahead to decide what I wanted to rent. Really? Are you serious? The whole point of of these kiosks is for CONVENIENCE. For heaven's sake, RELAX!

RTA

RTA is supposed to mean ready-to-assemble; however it really means "get ready to swear in four different languages while you use tiny tools made for hobbits." Also, I am not sure what the manufacturer's definition of ready-to-assemble is, but mine is "does not require a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and/or power tools" both of which I do not have and apparently needed to assemble my recently purchased "easy" to assemble RTA furniture. I had to call in reinforcements. I was not qualified for this endeavor. I am qualified to watch someone else struggle with my poor choices since this is somewhat amusing and only cost me some pizza and Cold Smoke. Everything turned out ok and the two pieces are nice enough. They will serve their purpose, but for the stress and blow to my ego, next time I will buy "real" furniture.

Shut-up!

I should not even be dignifying this by writing about it more, but really do we have to listen to more about the Kardashian wedding from this past weekend? This is getting to be ridiculous. I want to throw things at the TV every time I hear "more exclusive footage from the" blah blah blah. Do we not have more pressing news or other people to report about then this fat-assed reality TV bimbo and her NBA TV husband? "E" is really over publicizing and milking this event that I am sure will not be a single occurrence. So please, "E," I am begging you to find something else to dish on and leave the wedding pics/footage for your giant Kardashian wedding special. You are giving it all away! OMG!

The Sax is Back

I am so excited that the saxophone is back in contemporary popular music! Artists like Katy Perry and Lady Gaga are incorporating the versatile instrument into their mega hits like "Last Friday Night T.G.I.F." and "The Edge of Glory." The sax has been popular in contemporary Top 40 music for decades, but it is making its way to a headliner position again. There is nothing like a great sax solo to make you feel amazing and want to get your groove on!

A Long Hiatus

Well, it has been a very long time since I posted anything on my blog, but that is the beauty of the Internet; it is not going anywhere. Hello my old friend! I have missed you. What a great place for me to publicly ridicule myself and others. YAY! How I have missed this outlet! The last time I posted was literally two years ago. Where has the time gone? So much to rant about. . .

Alas, I must keep this short and pithy. The most important thing I have to say is who really cares that Kim Kardashian married NBA star Kris Humphries and how many celebutantes attended their over-the-top, overly publicized nuptials this weekend? Per many postings that I read, (and I agree) Kim K is not American Royalty. She is a reality TV star who is quite narcissistic and if she had any sense would use her celebrity status for something decent. Neither her or Kris need any wedding gifts despite their outrageous wedding registry. Really? How tacky! I would hope that they would do the respectable thing and donate a substantial amount of money to charity to demonstrate that they are not the self-absorbed, money-grubbing assholes they portray on TV. Oops. I bet that is not an act. . .
